A cancer benefit for Mikal Marion will be held Oct. 16 at 3rd Base Bar and Grill in Laporte.
Marion, an 18-year-old student at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, has germ cell cancer. He has already been undergone surgery for testicular cancer, but there were still more vicious enemies to be faced. This week he started extreme chemotherapy treatments.
The benefit will include an all-day silent auction, a raffle, live entertainment and spaghetti dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
Funds raised at the benefit will help pay for medical expenses, including cancer treatments.
An account has been established for Mikal at First National Bank in Walker. For more information about the benefit or to donate an auction item, call Ronda Palmer at (218) 820-0520 or Maria Richter at (218) 537-0576.
