Thank you from First Widow and Widower’s Club

A little rain did not dull the shine of the August gathering of the First Widow and Widowers Club. What a time we had! Our theme was, “Bark less, wag more and rock on!”

We thank our friend Pam Hunt for her dessert help. Adorably delicious cookies shaped like doggie bones. What a fun play on our theme. Yummy goodness!

We were so excited to welcome Sabbastian Wilson-Webb as our guest entertainer. Such unbelievable talent rolled in to an incredibly humble human being. Thank you friend! You rock!

Next, we wagged more when we heard and saw the extraordinary presentation from our guest speaker, Paws and Claws Rescue and Resort Executive Director Coretta Czycalla. So many of us love our furry friends, and we so enjoyed learning more about this amazing place. It was just purrrrrrrrrrrrrfect! Thank you, Coretta!

None of this could ever happen without the love and support of our sponsors. We were so humbly blessed this month to accept a wonderfully generous monetary donation from Corky Ahrens in loving memory of her son, Matthew. We honor his memory, and we thank Corky for her heartfelt donation in his name.

We also want to thank our dear friend Theresa Grey at the Copper Door Spa in Walker for her generous donation of a door prize.

We also want to thank our amazing monthly “postcard gal” Rachele Wales. Her personal touch to send our regular attenders invites is such a blessing. A loving thank you to Cornerstone Church as well, as they allow us to meet free of charge there each month.

If you would like to attend the First Widow and Widowers Club or know someone who would benefit from attending, or have any questions, please contact Mike and Stacy Little at (218) 547-1331 or send inquiries to quake@eot.com. We are also always looking for monthly sponsorship to offset the cost for the meal we provide, gifts for our guests, door prizes, table decorations, and so on. We always meet on the last Monday of the month. You won’t want to miss September Club!
