The Christian Laettner Basketball Academy announced March 1 it will be hosting a four-day basketball camp June 17-20 in partnership with the athletic departments of Oak Hills Christian College and Bemidji State University.
The academy will provide a camp with skills-focused sessions based on foundational concepts in passing, ball handling and offensive and defensive strategies. The event is open to players of all skill levels.
Both team and individual instruction is available to boys and girls ages 6 to 18 and is provided by Christian Laettner, the former Olympic basketball gold medal winner, and his personally-trained staff. The camp is $110 and includes instruction, game play and a T-shirt.
The camp will run from 1 to 5 p.m. each day and will take place at Bemidji High School Gymnasium. The camp is limited to the first 200 paid registrants.
Laettner, a two-time national champion at Duke University, and former NBA All-Star and Olympic Dream Team Gold Medalist, expressed his enthusiasm over the clinic. “We are looking forward to partnering with two great college programs there in Bemidji. Dan (Hovestol) has done a great job in building the programs at Oak Hills and bringing a fine program like Bemidji State on board. We’re looking forward to putting on a great camp for the kids of the community. We hope to add to what they are doing with this special event.”
