These are the days we know and love. The Labor Day angel did it again, pulled the shade to make mornings cold and days blue-sky beautiful. Of course cold and rainy sneaks in once in awhile but as long as the majority are like this, we can handle it.
The game of the day was Team Up Your Putters. It was a team game to add everyone’s putts together.
There were 20 ladies in five teams. We were last ones in so I don’t know if everyone was still talking but ladies seemed to be getting along. I didn’t get details but I know in our case two did great, and two of us not so much. At least it was a balanced team. I think that’s fair.
The team of Bonnie Franke, Sharon Keister, Bev Novak and Carol Doschadis came in first.
Kathy Green, Barb Faber, Jan Filkins, and Bonnie Isaacson followed in second, and Shirley Olson, Sherrie Vandenheuvel, Joyce Rief and I took third.
We’re still counting chip-ins so Joyce Schuette started us out with one on hole 15 for a par. Jan Filkins chipped in on hole 5 for a better score and Sherrie Van was on the fringe and putted from about a gazillion feet all the way across the No. 4 green, shouting “Stop,” all the way only to see it hit the pin, drop straight down and — that’s a wrap. Believe me, it was a sight to behold.
We don’t get many birdies to tweet about so I think it’s worth mentioning that last week we missed the one by Carol Doschadis on No. 7. We were also happy to see Lana Hanson join us for the banquet, and she’s going to be ready to go next season, so watch out.
We still have a few more weeks of league and Twosome Tuesdays will go until the weather stops us or those of us wimps leave for warmer climate.
