Edgewood Healthcare celebrates the fifth graduate from its Edgewood Senior Living Executive Director in Training Program.
Zachary Downs was recently named the new executive director of Edgewood May Creek Senior Living Campus in Walker.
The Executive Director in Training Program is an intensive educational experience designed specifically to provide individuals with a broad base of operational knowledge and skills for leadership as a licensed Executive Director in an Edgewood Assisted Living and Memory Care community.
The program exemplifies and ensures Edgewood’s commitment to the Standards of Excellence and Core Cultural Values for the best possible outcomes in terms of quality and value for our customers and financial success for our investors. The goal of this program is to provide a guide for educational, practical and clinical experiences that will help individuals develop identifiable competencies and grow as a professional utilizing his or her unique style of leadership as an Executive Director.
“We are thrilled to continue developing strong internal candidates through Edgewood’s Executive Director in Training Program. Zach will fill a needed role in our company, and as a proven leader, he will ensure Edgewood continues providing the highest-quality services, care and accommodations,” said Russell G. Kubik, president of Edgewood Healthcare.
“I am excited to announce Zach’s well-deserved executive director appointment in Walker,” said Ross Huttunen, Edgewood Healthcare Regional vice president, Region II (Minnesota and Fargo, N.D). “Zach’s Executive Director in Training internship was based here in Minnesota and we’re especially pleased that he will stay on as a part of our regional team; he’s passionate, driven and truly cares for our residents.”
A native of Lake Park, Downs is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, where he earned his degree in Healthcare Administration with an emphasis in Hospital Administration and Long-Term Care Administration. His strong relationship with his grandparents fostered an appreciation for the senior population, and his passion for caring for seniors only grew and strengthened from his administrative internship he completed during college.
Downs is thrilled to join the Edgewood team and is committed to ensuring that our residents receive a high quality of care and have a superior quality of life.
In his free time, Downs enjoys exercising, playing basketball and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
Downs is thankful to have been provided the opportunity to expand his knowledge base and skills through the Edgewood Executive Director in Training Program and is excited to join the Edgewood May Creek team in September.
