The Walker-based geographic information systems (GIS) consulting firm Pro-West and Associates announced Jan. 29 the retirement of President and CEO Annette Theroux, and promotion of Vice-President of Programs, Kendis Scharenbroich, to the role.
Scharenbroich, of Bemidji, joined Pro-West as a GIS project manager 17 years ago. In her role as vice-president of Programs she has been responsible for leading hundreds of client projects, setting the technical direction of the company and managing industry partnerships. As President and CEO she will be responsible for maintaining Pro-West’s position on the cutting edge of GIS, using state-of-the-art location intelligence tools to bring value to its clients.
Outgoing President and CEO Theroux, also of Bemidji, has been with Pro-West for 24 years, guiding and growing the firm through a time of rapid change in the technology industry. Key achievements have included leading pioneering projects for the State of Minnesota, receiving award recognition for Pro-West’s services to the federal government, and transforming internal systems and processes to serve Pro-West’s clients — mostly government organizations — more effectively.
“I have had a wonderful 24 years at Pro-West but it is the right time for me to retire,” Theroux commented. “It has been a privilege to lead a business made up of talented people doing some of the most advanced work in our industry right here in northern Minnesota. Pro-West, its clients and staff are well positioned for future success under Kendis’ leadership. She is a talented business leader who inspires those around her and has been instrumental in making Pro-West what it is today.”
“Annette has been an extraordinary leader and mentor. After 17 years I will miss collaborating with her on a daily basis but I’m excited to move forward, continuing to grow our unique culture and values,” Scharenbroich added. “I am grateful to work with a dedicated team that does valuable work every day and cares deeply about our clients’ success. I am thankful to have such a solid foundation on which to build the future of our company.”
