Cass County Investigator Ryan Fisher talks with a group of parents and community members about the tools that are available to help keep children safe. The training course also highlighted how many predatory offenders live in the county.

Equipping parents and families with the tools necessary to keep children safe online was the focus of Community Ed training course held March 5 at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School.

Cass County Investigator Ryan Fisher spent the workshop talking about children’s access to inappropriate pictures and how parents, guardians and the community can provide Internet safety; consequences of sexting; how to report to the CyberTipline; cyberbullying and how to report it; and other information about these issues.

The use of pornography in today’s culture has become an epidemic that experts believe is destroying families.

Fisher also gave the parents a website to make a report if they believe a child is being exploited at http://www.missingkids.com/gethelpnow/cybertipline
