BEMIDJI — Sanford Bemidji is hosting its free Survivors of Stroke Support Group from 2:30 to 4 p.m. April 23 in the Education Center Conference Room at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center (hospital).
The Education Center is located inside the east entrance of the medical center. Attendees do not need to register ahead of time.
This month, behavioral health professionals Anna Chock and David Berg will discuss several of the mental health aspects related to strokes: understanding brain injury and its effect on personality, social interaction, and dealing with frustration.
The Survivors of Stroke Support Group is for those who have experienced a stroke, as well as for their support person and/or caregiver. The group offers support, understanding and friendship, and provides information about stroke and stroke related topics.
The group meets regularly the fourth Tuesday of every month in the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center Education Center from 2:30 to 4 p.m. For questions, leave a message at (218) 333-5856.
