Now is a great time to start or renew a fitness center membership at the Walker Area Community Center (WACC).
The center just received a truckload of new fitness equipment and is currently offering a 25 percent discount off a first or next six months for anyone who signs up for the Chase the Police Triathlon, the WACC Golf Tournament or any of the Walker North Country Races. What better way to reach those fitness goals than train for one of these popular events?
Zumba classes will be held at the WACC every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Visit the website for current membership fees and links to register for events at www.walkerwacc.com. Or stop by or call (218) 547-1853.
Donating time or money to the WACC is one of the best ways to give back to the community. With more than 60,000 visits per year, more than half by children, this local community center is a bustling hub of activity.
The WACC is home to the Boys and Girls Club, Just For Kix, Tae Kwon Do, Leech Lake Youth Hockey, Walker Curling Club, Walker Rotary Club, the Lions Home and Garden Show, the cozy Ringle Library, indoor and outdoor ice rinks, arena seating for conventions and receptions, meeting rooms, commercial kitchen, comfy couches, free Wi-Fi, concessions and much more.
The WACC is run by a hard-working staff and group of dedicated volunteers that you can be a part of. The center is always looking for volunteers to help with operations and events.
Anyone who would like to support the center with a donation can make a pledge in the One Thousand 100’s Capital Campaign. Be a part of the WACC’s success for only $100 per year for five years. A form is available online at www.walkerwacc.com.
