The Remer Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Remer, Minn., is now to be known as the official Home of Bigfoot.
This designation is based on more than a century of sightings, events and stories in the area related to Bigfoot and a desire to have a central location for visitors to learn more about the history and the legend. Chamber members believe Bigfoot’s home was, and is, within the wooded lands that surround Remer. Even the town’s founder, William P. Remer, is rumored to have found tracks that belong to Bigfoot.
As reported in the Pine Cone Press-Citizen, March 22, 2016, stories about Bigfoot began surfacing in the late 1800s and continued as recently as 2009 with a trail camera photo that made national news.
It is believed there are many stories, sightings and photos of Bigfoot that have never been shared publicly. With this declaration, Remer can now become a central location for the collection and display of these materials. Chamber members have a commitment to gathering and preserving everything and anything that can be known about Bigfoot.
The Remer Chamber of Commerce will host a kick-off celebration April 9. It includes a presentation by the head of Bigfoot Research in Minnesota, a luncheon, live entertainment and a Bigfoot scavenger hunt, among others.
Future events in Remer will celebrate the intrigue that captivates people all over the world: the mystery of Bigfoot.
