American flag etiquette

If you watched WCCO TV-4 Thursday night you may have seen some of the Walker American Legion members performing a flag retirement ceremony as they highlighted a story of flag etiquette. Some may have also noticed that the flags are again flying at both the Walker Area Community Center and SuperOne Foods in Walker. They are a couple of the tallest flag poles in the area and were in need of new cables.

On behalf of the Walker Legion Honor Guard Flag Detail, we would like to thank Stan’s Tree Service for the use of their boom truck several times at both locations.

One of the priorities of Walker American Legion Post 134 is to help promote patriotism in the community and nation. The Fourth of July is quickly approaching and perhaps this would be a great opportunity to check the serviceability of your flag. If you don’t have a flag display, perhaps a purchase is in order. Thank you all for helping to keep America the great country it is.
