While most spring sports teams have yet to compete because of all the snow and cool temperatures, the Running Wolves have already participated in two indoor track meets. Walker-Hackensack-Akeley was one of 19 teams that competed at the Beaver Relays April 9 at Bemidji State University, finishing ninth with 20 points.
Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton finished first with 109 points, Bemidji was 22.5 points behind in second place and Wadena-Deer Creek finished third with 92.5 points.
Cody Sagen took first in the high jump at 5-10 feet and was fifth in the long jump at 19-04 feet.
Finishing fifth was Cole Nelson in the 400 at 54.73 seconds,
In seventh place was Tyler Sea in the 200 at 24.83 and Kai Ashmore took eighth in the triple jump at 37-02 feet.
A week earlier, the Wolves were one of 18 teams that competed at the Little Amik Meet at BSU. WHA’s boys’ team finished 14th with 18 points.
Sagen took third in the high jump at 5-08 feet and Rice was also third in the pole vault at 10-06 feet.
Finishing seventh was Rettke in the 60 meter hurdles at 10.95 seconds and Sagen in the long jump at 17-11.5 feet.
Park Rapids took first with 81.5 points, Pillager was second at 58 points and Wadena-Deer Creek third with 57 points.
